Methodology
Here's how we decide what goes on the site, and how we try to keep it accurate.
Research Standards
Every article and quiz question is based on the official rules, regulations, or playing conditions published by the sport's governing body — for example, the rulebook of a major professional league, or the laws published by an international federation. We do not base content on commentary, forum discussion, or secondhand summaries when we can refer to the governing rule directly.
What We Cover
We focus on content that stays accurate over time: rules, formats, terminology, scoring systems, and the mechanics of how a sport is played and officiated. We deliberately avoid content tied to current rosters, recent results, standings, or active records, since those change constantly and would make the site unreliable within weeks of publishing.
Review Process
Each piece of content carries an internal review version and a "last reviewed" date, visible on every article. When a sport's governing body changes a rule, we aim to update the relevant article and any related quiz questions rather than leave outdated information live.
- Content is checked against the current rulebook or law set at the time of writing.
- Rules with known regional or league-level variation are described in general, conceptual terms rather than asserted as a single universal number.
- Where a rule detail could not be confirmed with confidence, it is left out rather than guessed.
Quiz Question Standards
Every quiz question has exactly one correct answer, a plain-English explanation, and a named source. Questions are organized by sport and by difficulty (easy, medium, hard), and we avoid writing questions whose answers could become outdated, such as "who holds the current record," in favor of durable, rules-based questions.
Corrections
